Originally a lumber town and port, Saugatuck, along with the adjacent village

Felt Estate
Beautifully situated ten miles south of Holland (Michigan) and six miles north
of Saugatuck, the Felt Estate was once the luxurious summer home and hobby
of self-made millionaire and inventor Dorr E. Felt. The mansion, listed on
the National Register of Historic Places and the Michigan State Register of
Historic Sites, retains the architectural beauty of a bygone era and offers
a glimpse into the wealth and lifestyle of the Roaring 20s - a time cut short
by The Great Depression.

Thousands of visitors tour the S.S. Keewatin every summer. They transport
themselves back in time to the bygone era of elegant passenger steamship travel.
They see passenger staterooms, Captain's suite, crew quarters, dining and

A day-use park along a secluded strip of Lake Michigan shoreline, Saugatuck
Dunes State Park offers 2.5 miles of shore line. The park has fresh water
coastal dunes that are over 200 feet tall. The park's terrain varies from
steep slopes to rolling hills.

Oval Beach has the right combination of sand dunes, seclusion and services

The trail provides the skier with a choice
of distances from 2 miles to 14 miles without repeating a trail and up to
18 miles with very little repetition. The trail is fully marked with direction-change

Shore Golf Club
West Shore Golf Club is a sporty 18-hole golf course of natural beauty. One
of the 10 oldest golf courses in the state. The course opened in 1916, and
it was expanded to 18 holes in 1932. While the 5,298 course plays to par 66,
that number is rather deceptive. The course features a winding creek, tree
lined fairways, and elevation changes that challenge golfers of all abilities.

Film Festival
In what has quickly become a tradition, the idyllic resort village of Saugatuck,
Michigan comes alive each June with filmgoers, actors, producers and directors
sharing the excitement as outstanding independent films from all over the
United States are screened in casual, intimate settings. Entertainment professionals
from Los Angeles, New York and Michigan created the Waterfront Film Festival
in 1999 to provide a "middle coast" venue for independent filmmakers
eager to show their work to sophisticated audiences. The festival has succeeded
with growing support and recognition each year, and enthusiastic reviews from
