Originally a lumber town and port, Saugatuck, along with the adjacent village of Douglas became a noted art colony and tourist destination in the arts and crafts movement of the late 19th century. The Felt Estate
Beautifully situated ten miles south of Holland (Michigan) and six miles north of Saugatuck, the Felt Estate was once the luxurious summer home and hobby of self-made millionaire and inventor Dorr E. Felt. The mansion, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Michigan State Register of Historic Sites, retains the architectural beauty of a bygone era and offers a glimpse into the wealth and lifestyle of the Roaring 20s - a time cut short by The Great Depression.

Keewatin Maritime Museum
Thousands of visitors tour the S.S. Keewatin every summer. They transport themselves back in time to the bygone era of elegant passenger steamship travel. They see passenger staterooms, Captain's suite, crew quarters, dining and lounge areas, food preparation areas, and visit the Wheelhouse.

Saugatuck Dunes State Park
A day-use park along a secluded strip of Lake Michigan shoreline, Saugatuck Dunes State Park offers 2.5 miles of shore line. The park has fresh water coastal dunes that are over 200 feet tall. The park's terrain varies from steep slopes to rolling hills.

Mount Baldhead and Oval Beach Recreation Area
Rated among the 25 best shorelines in the world by Conde Nast's Traveler, Oval Beach has the right combination of sand dunes, seclusion and services that create its cachet. Discover it best by riding across the Kalamazoo River on a hand-pulled chain ferry from the town of Saugatuck, climbing 282 steps to Mount Baldhead, and descending onto the grassy coastal sands. Allegan State Game Area Cross Country Ski Trails
The trail provides the skier with a choice of distances from 2 miles to 14 miles without repeating a trail and up to 18 miles with very little repetition. The trail is fully marked with direction-change arrows and reassurance markers.

Ravines Golf Club
he Ravines Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature Championship Golf Course, open to members and the general public since 1999. This sweeping, eighteen-hole course, is where nature meets golf in ways you simply must witness to believe.

Clearbrook Golf Club
Only 35 miles from downtown Grand Rapids and 10 minutes from Holland, Clearbrook has been a qualifying site for the Michigan Open and has hosted some of the areas finest players and tournaments - such as the prestigious West Michigan PGA Championship. And it is regularly chosen as the site of many fine charity events.

West Shore Golf Club
West Shore Golf Club is a sporty 18-hole golf course of natural beauty. One of the 10 oldest golf courses in the state. The course opened in 1916, and it was expanded to 18 holes in 1932. While the 5,298 course plays to par 66, that number is rather deceptive. The course features a winding creek, tree lined fairways, and elevation changes that challenge golfers of all abilities.

South Haven Annual All Crafts Fair
Artwork, crafts of all types, food and fun will be on hand for the All Crafts Fair in South Haven's Stanley Johnson Park. Just steps from Lake Michigan, and right across the bridge.

Waterfront Film Festival
In what has quickly become a tradition, the idyllic resort village of Saugatuck, Michigan comes alive each June with filmgoers, actors, producers and directors sharing the excitement as outstanding independent films from all over the United States are screened in casual, intimate settings. Entertainment professionals from Los Angeles, New York and Michigan created the Waterfront Film Festival in 1999 to provide a "middle coast" venue for independent filmmakers eager to show their work to sophisticated audiences. The festival has succeeded with growing support and recognition each year, and enthusiastic reviews from attendees. We invite you to participate!

Tulip Time Festival

In 2001 a group of citizens established a fully-recognized 501 (C) 3 not-for-profit corporation and purchased the factory building that housed the former Lloyd J. Harriss Pie Company at 400 Culver Street, Saugatuck. Today the renovated pie factory is the home of Saugatuck Center for the Arts (SCA). The SCA runs a year-round program of high quality arts programming.
