Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument celebrates the life and landscape of the Sonoran Desert. In this desert wilderness, you may drive a lonely road, hike a backcountry trail, camp beneath a clear desert sky, marvel at magnificent cactus, or soak in the warmth and beauty of the Southwest.

Tonto National Monument
Situated within rugged terrain in the northeastern part of the Sonoran Desert, these well-preserved cliff dwellings were occupied during the 13th, 14th, and early 15th centuries.

Casa Grande Ruins
Four stories high and 60 feet long, it is the largest structure known to exist in Hohokam times. Early Spanish-explorers called it Casa Grande ("Great House"), and to them it was a mystery.

Montezuma Castle National Monument

Lost Dutchman Goldmine Museum, Superstition Mountain Museum
The Superstition Mountain Museum collects, preserves and displays the artifacts, history and folklore of the Superstition Mountains, Apache Junction and the surrounding region. As modern times approached, men and women began searching for what they believed was the richest gold mine in the world. This mine was made famous by Jacob Waltz, known as "the Dutchman", who took the secret of "his mine" to the grave in 1891.

Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeologocal Park
Pueblo Grande Museum is located at a 1,500 year-old Hohokam village ruins in modern day Phoenix. For over 70 years the museum has been dedicated to the study and interpretation of the Hohokam culture.

Phoenix Zoo
We have approximately 2.5 miles of walking trails. The Zoo has been divided into four different trails; usually the Africa and Tropics Trails take about an hour each and the Arizona and Children’s Trails take about a half hour each.

Saguaro National Park
What many people don't know is that saguaros, which can grow to be 50 feet tall and weigh more than 8 tons, are native only to the hot lowland regions of the Sonoran Desert, a finger of which reaches from Mexico into southern Arizona.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West
Taliesin West was architect Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and school in the desert from 1937 until his death in 1959 at the age of 91. Today, it houses the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, a school for architects, and is open to the public for tours.
